The Fernandina Beach Rotary Club recently welcomed Amelia Island Sunrise Rotary Club member Theresa Shuster, who also serves as the Rotary District 6970 Chair of the Jaguars-Rotary Partnership. Begun 11 years ago, the partnership has raised more than $180,000 through Jags ticket sales and the auctioning off of other Jags items. All of the funds have gone directly to Rotary's End Polio Now campaign. In addition to donating some 1,000 tickets to the cause, the Jags have also given $30,000 to District 6970's contribution to eradicate polio.

During this year's Jags' season, the football franchise and its owner, Shad Khan, have increased their commitment to Rotary. The organization is discounting tickets sold by Rotary District 6970 clubs for all local Jags games. All of the funds raised this year could be eligible for a matching grant of $95,000 from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. One hundred percent of the money goes directly to the End Polio Now campaign.
