Our next "Social" event will be Wednesday June 6th from 5:00 to 7 pm at the Story and Song bookstore.  They will cater the food and the Student Scholarship winners and their parents will be invited to attend.  Let's have a great turnout and enjoy the company.  This Wednesday night social will replace our normal meeting that day at noon.

John Howard, Community Services Report:

The next Blood Drive will be in TWO weeks on May 23rd.  John passed around the sign up sheets for us and needs some volunteers to help bring potential donors to the bus from Centre Street before and during our meeting.  Let John know if you are interested in helping out here.

Also mentioned, from Scout Leader Wain Wesberry, that the next Boy Scouts trash pick-up of the Parkway will be the first Saturday in June (6/2/18). Please keep this date in mind to help out.  We always meet on Bailey Road just off the circle of the Parkway at 9am (usually takes about an hour to complete depending on the number of volunteers).

John Boylan, Director of Youth Services Report:

LAST CHANCE to help out.  We Still need some help with housing some Exchange Students from Northeast Florida for the weekend of May 18th here on the Island during the District Conference.  There is enough beds for all but we could use some relief as several homes are putting up several students to make sure all have housing.
The commitment is to provide a bed for two nights, and dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday/Sunday.   For the most part on Saturday, the students will be doing a service project, downtown, and on the Cumberland Island boat ride, and on Sunday, participating at the District 6970 Rotary Conference at the Omni.
If you have the time and space, please contact John Boylan at the contact information listed below.  THANKS for considering it!
