Visiting Guests of the Club:  Guest of Steve Struck was his wife Stacey.  Guest of Renee Stoffel was Dawn Townsend.  Guest of Joe Hastey was his son Jonathan Hastey of Colorado.  Guest of Dr. David Page was Steve Sherman.

50/50 Jack Pot:  $608  - Renee Stoffel had the drawn ticket and drew the ACE OF SPADES!!  Game over! Generously, Renee donated the money to her favorite charity!!

Sergeant at Arms, Larry Melnick:

Larry noted that we all need to pick up after ourselves when leaving the meeting.  We need to do a better job at leaving the place as clean as possible!  It's not much to ask so please throw away your own trash.

On another note from Coach Roy Benson; for those of us who are eating "chips" during a presentation, it's noisy and distracting.  So if we must eat chips, empty the chips out of the bag to keep the noise to a minimum.  Just needing to show a little more consideration toward our speakers.

Boy Scouts: $24

Shelter Box: $52

President Ron Heymann

Our next "Social" event will be Wednesday June 6th from 5:00 to 7 pm at the Story and Song bookstore.  They will cater the food and I have secured a little additional financing for beer and wine.  We will have a nice end of year celebration for our club.

Also, we will have the 6th be our Rotary Scholarship celebration and invite the student winners and their parents.  Phyllis Davis will coordinate and make sure they are all invited.

LAST CHANCE to help out.  We Still need some help with housing some Exchange Students from Northeast Florida for the weekend of May 18th here on the Island during the District Conference.
The commitment is to provide a bed for two nights, and dinner on Friday and breakfast on Saturday/Sunday.   For the most part on Saturday, the students will be doing a service project, downtown, and on the Cumberland Island boat ride, and on Sunday, participating at the District 6970 Rotary Conference at the Omni.
If you have the time and space, please contact John Boylan at the contact information listed below.  THANKS for considering it!

SOMETHING NEW:  On going 2018, 100% attendance.

There seems to be a misunderstanding as to the rule of attendance for this new years challenge. Below is the original post of the rules that Larry Myers made when he came up with the idea and NO makeups would be accepted.  Only if you were on "Rotary business during the meeting time" would be the only acceptable reason:

It's a new year and Larry Myers and I decided we would take note of all members who are at 100% attendance for 2018 to see who would be left standing at the end of the year or until everyone drops off before the year ends.  One thing I need to make clear though, its based on our clubs physical attendance.....NO make ups will be counted on this list of names.  So, if you did not "weather the cold" on our first 2018 meeting, you are already out of the picture. That said....here are the 100% attendees to date:
