What is Rotary and who are Rotarians?
Visitors to our club's website may be looking to find out who we are and what we do...and what sets Rotary as an organization apart. Besides being the oldest service organization in the world, we, as a body meet for:
- FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
- SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
- THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
- FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
Our motto of "Service Above Self" speaks to us as professionals and leaders in our commuinty to use the principals in The Four-Way Test to remind us
Of the things we think, say or do
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

...And we join the in the goal of thousands of Rotarians from around the world for the erradication of Polio. Rotary Interntational has worked with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Health Organization and others to eliminate this scourge from the planet. Rotary's lasting legacy in this quest is a mark our organization can take great pride in and we, as Rotarians, can say we had a part in. Many of our children do not even know what polio is in the U.S, where there are still children out there in places such as India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and NIgeria that are at risk of contracting this crippling and life-threatening disease.
