Save the Date for the Harlem Ambassadors Return in February

Mark your calendars now!  The Fernandina Beach Rotary Club is excited to announce the return of the world-renowned Harlem Ambassadors basketball team on Friday, February 28, 2014.  The fun begins at 7 p.m. when the Ambassadors take on the Nassau Nets in a fun-filled, family-friendly evening of basketball showmanship featuring high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks and hilarious comedy returns in the Fernandina Beach High School gymnasium.

As in years past, our Nassau Nets team will include local teachers, coaches, first responders, pastors and other community leaders all battling for court supremacy over the Ambassadors.  The event features music, interactive games for children, prizes, snacks, beverages and more.   The evening is guaranteed to offer something to appeal to everyone, young and old, so bring the whole family and experience laugh-out-loud comedy basketball for a good cause.  All proceeds from the game go to fund the Fernandina Beach Rotary Club’s Dollars for Scholars program, which since 1994 has awarded more than $300,000 in college scholarships to graduates of all four Nassau County High Schools.

Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and will be available for purchase soon.  While local businesses including the Residence Inn as well as the Journey Church have already snapped up sponsorships, additional sponsors at several levels are still welcome to add their names to this outstanding event.  For more information, contact Sean McGill at 904.556.4225 or via email at seanpmcgill@hotmail.com or visit the Fernandina Beach Rotary Club website at www.fernandinabeachrotaryclub.org.
