Our Program Today Was The

“Second Annual Christmas Musical Revue”

(a.k.a. “Rotary Has Talent”)

Hosted by Aaron Bean

Announcing the event and boasting its acclaim, Aaron shared that we were about to be treated to five acts. (We later learned the five acts would be performed by mixing and matching the only five talented individuals that could be enlisted.) Aaron also shared that while we waited for costume changes, etc. he would test/entertain us with Christmas trivia challenges.

ACT

ONE

The Rotary Rooter Band

Featuring Bonnie Ridley on piano, Wally Messer on base guitar and David Page on guitar

Song One: “Happy Together” (also David Page as vocalist)

(Aaron Bean did a quick entire wardrobe change by putting on a hat. Trust me; his hayseed hat did change his entire wardrobe)

Song Two: “Lucille” (also David Page as vocalist)

(We now know what Dr. Page does on weekends besides watch Turner Classic Movies)

ACT

TWO

Soloist Jim Hook (a.k.a. Julie Andrews)

Featuring Jim Hook, asking us to picture him as Julie Andrews as he sang

Song One: “These Are a Few of My Favorite Things” (Jim sang words Julie Andrews would never remember)

ACT

THREE

Aaron Bean (a.k.a. Politician with Trumpet)

Featuring Aaron on Trumpet (claiming he had not played since last year. That’s how we know he’s still a politician)

Song One: (It was a religious number, but I was so enamored with his playing I forget the title.)

ACT

FOUR

The Rotary Rooter Band (Curtain Call + w/ Aaron)

Featuring Bonnie Ridley on piano, Wally Messer on base guitar, David Page on guitar and Aaron Bean on trumpet

Song One: “If You Could Read My Mind” (David as vocalist)

(Entire band inc Aaron did a quick entire wardrobe change by putting on a hat. Look for yourself.)

Song Two: “Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer”

(We all noticed every piece of new wardrobe still had the price tags on them. Now tell me, band, would you return them to the store after you have worn them?)

ACT

FIVE

The Rotary Rooter Band with Jim directing us

Featuring Bonnie Ridley on piano, Wally Messer on base guitar, David Page on guitar, Aaron Bean on Trumpet and Jim Hook directing...

Song One: “Joy to the World” (and Jim has us sing only verse one; he thought we should not press our luck)
