The Fernandina Beach Rotary Club recently enjoyed an outstanding presentation by WJXT Channel 4 Meteorologist Richard Nunn. Nunn discussed the many variables contributing to this year’s above-average hurricane season, which is just now reaching its peak. In addition, he noted that the summer of 2011 would go down in the records as the third warmest for our area and follows two years of record-breaking cold winters. He also talked about the many advances in meteorology that have made weather forecasting more accurate. In closing, he outlined how climate changes and global warming have affected our weather locally.
