John Boylan Member Moment

·        Son Of Army Officer – Born in NYC, lived in New York, Indiana, Ohio, Germany, and Pennsylvania, prior to coming to Florida

·        Chemical Engineering (Paper) Degree from Miami (Ohio) University

·        Retired after 25 years with Procter and Gamble in 2006

·        Traveled extensively from 2006 to 2009 (US National Parks, Australia/New Zealand, Europe)

·        2 Daughters, Adriana and Colette, Colette was an exchange student to Australia in 2006 – 07.   Adriana graduated from Penn State (2010 Math Major), and Colette from Temple (2012 Film/Media Arts Major), Both School Teachers in California

·        Of Course, Kim and Hannah

·        Love Sports/Music/Golf – Musical Group Chicago (Sung With), New York Yankees (Worked For), Golf Bucket List Of Courses/Low Handicap Goal

·        Started at RockTenn as contractor in 2010, Will be Full Time On July 16th

·        Organized/Good Listener/Have Time/Desire To Help/Make Change/Improve

1.     Attended all RLI classes and graduated

3.     Attended all Rotary Meetings in our Mini District

Goals For Year

1.     LEAD BY EXAMPLE/New To Area/Diverse Background/Question & Challenge Everything We Do To Insure We Agree As A Club & Are Doing The Best Way

2.     Offer more social opportunities/gatherings

3.     Grow Club by minimum of 5 members

4.     Fund Raising – TBD, Legacy Harlem Ambassadors, 

5.     Foundation – Lead By Example – Paul Harris x 2+, Bequest, Benefactor, District Grants/Future Vision Grant Prep (Dr. Page), Futures Tennis tournament

6.     Youth Exchange – Sponsor Brazilian Student Matheus, Legacy Fernandina Beach YE Student Weekend

7.     Scholarship – Continue To Fund, Insure Selection Criteria Correct for Scholarships

8.     Community Involvement – Continue Trash Pickup, Dictionary Project, Blood Drives, Met with Tim Poynter, City Commission Member, and Joe Gerrity, City Manager, to begin dialogue on Community Opportunities for our club

9.     More – Club Appraisal, Fiscally Responsible
