Recently, Angelique Le Bigot, the Fernandina Beach Rotary Club’s French exchange student, visited the club to say good-bye.  Angelique, who has lived with three local families while attending Fernandina Beach High School, will return to her home in Peipin, France in July.  Since arriving on Amelia Island in September, Angelique has completely immersed herself in activities at the high school, including playing softball and joining Interact.  She added that she had made many friends and admired FBHS’s strong sense of school spirit.  She will leave believing that “Once a Pirate, always a Pirate” will always apply to her, too.  Angelique also traveled extensively throughout the country from Washington D.C. to New York, Hawaii and South Florida.  Her many experiences locally and in other U.S. cities gave her a deep appreciation of this country and its culture and traditions.  She closed by saying the past year had been the best of her life and that Fernandina Beach would always feel like home to her.
